The University of Benin Faculty of Agriculture Class of 2008 Alumni Association (also known as UNIBEN AGRIC 2008) is a non-profit, apolitical organisation formed by members of the graduating class of 2008 of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin, Nigeria as a platform for fostering solidarity, mutual support, and co-creation among its members, while also contributing collectively to the development of the Faculty as well as the University of Benin.The Association’s primary membership includes individuals who were part of the graduating class of 2008, and those who matriculated in the 2003/2004 academic session regardless of whether they graduated in 2008. The goals of the association include:
1. To unite members of UNIBEN Faculty of Agriculture class of 2008.
2. To enhance and promote the common interests and welfare of members of the class of 2008, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the great University of Benin.
3. To support members of the Association and offer moral and financial assistance in times of need.
4. To provide support and mentorship to young aspiring professionals in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin.
5. To encourage ethical and moral rectitude among members of the Association around the world.
To achieve these goals, the group engages in virtual and physical reunions, established welfare packages for members in need, organizes capacity development programs for members, and sponsors projects aimed at giving back to the alma mater.
Apart from its primary membership, associate membership is also available to spouses of members, while honorary membership can also be conferred at the instance of the executive council. The University of Benin Faculty of Agriculture Class of 2008 Alumni Association has been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since 2020.
